Over the course of its 17 year history, The Actors Gymnasium boasts many accomplishments, and thanks to our loyal supporters, 2011-2012 has been a year of unprecedented growth and achievement.

  • Served over 1,400 students of all ages in our classes and camps.
  • Entertained over 3,500 patrons in professional and youth shows, including a string of 18 consecutive sold-out performances.
  • Expanded, due to demand, the number of shows and performances in our 2012-2013 season – including the addition of more “Circus in Progress’ performances, and a new Spring Youth Circus.
  • Launched new online enrollment and box office systems, increasing efficiency for our families.
  • Provided professional entertainment and private workshops for 93 corporate and community events at a variety of venues around Chicagoland, giving our students and teachers opportunities to perform and improve skills.
  • Provided over $17,000 in need-based financial aid awards to families who may not have been able to participate in classes and camps otherwise.
  • Developed and strengthened education partnerships with local schools including: Northwestern University, DePaul University, University of Chicago, Chicago Waldorf School, Dawes Elementary, Baker Demonstration, Washington Elementary, and Beth Emet.

In the coming years, we will be growing our outreach programs, increasing our financial aid fund, and looking toward expanding our education and performance programs to additional locations. So your support is more crucial than ever.

The Actors Gymnasium is a not-for-profit organization.  We rely on the generosity of individual donors to operate our programs and to keep the quality of those programs high. In fact, individual donors are the most important and impactful piece of our contributed revenue formula.
